Pragmatic has announced the company has been awarded Eur 1.6 million funding under the European Union's Horizon 2020 SME Instrument programme, for development of its Flexlogic equipment announced in April earlier this year.
According to the announcement Flexlogic transfers Pragmatic's end-to-end flexible ICs production process into a self-contained, fully automated, modular "fab-in-a-box" for high-throughput manufacturing. Flexlogic offers capacity for billions of flexible ICs at a capital cost between 100 and 1000 times lower than a silicon fab.
Further details can be found on the Flexlogic website along with a downloadable presentation that shows their product roadmap
Scott White, Pragmatic's Chief Executive Officer, said, "This significant grant award provides further validation of the unique and compelling nature of the Flexlogic equipment, and its potential to drive the commercial roll-out of mass-market flexible electronics."
The Flexlogic design study was supported by the European Union's Horizon 2020 SME Instrument Phase 1 (grant agreement number 696266). PragmatIC has now been awarded further funding under the SME Instrument Phase 2 (grant agreement number 726029).
