Lighting designer Stephen Blackman has recently shown a prototype of his new Aradess OLED table lamp featuring Lumiblade OLED GL350 panels by Philips at the recently held 2013 International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF).
Stephen Blackman is launching his own manufacturing company - Blackjack Lighting. Aradess is one of Blackjack Lighting’s first releases, and will be distributed by Illuminating Experiences when it goes into production later this year. The Aradess is expected to have a retail price of US$ 5,900
The Aradess OLED table lamp uses eight 124.5mm x 124.5mm Lumiblade GL350 panels, each emitting 120 lumens. The Aradess OLED lamp is available in silver or black.
Stephen Blackman has been designing decorative light fixtures and portable lamps for more than 30 years. Produced by some of the country’s largest lighting manufacturers, these designs have won numerous Lighting For Tomorrow awards, including awards for LED light fixtures entered in the Solid State Lighting (SSL) competition.
In 2012, Stephen Blackman designed the Vela chandelier for WAC Lighting, which uses 24 OLED panels. Vela won a Production Innovation Award from Architecture SSL magazine last December.
