AUO debuts 5-inch FHD OLED smartphone display with the world's highest resolution

AUO hopes that its FHD AM-OLED will raise its share of the smartphone market

AU Optronics Corp. (AUO) has announced the launch of a 5-inch FHD AM-OLED smartphone display with resolutions as high as 443 ppi (pixel per inch), which the company* believes is the highest resolution AM-OLED in the world. The display features low power consumption, and high picture quality, and is also equipped with high contrast, high brightness, fast response time, and wide viewing angle, providing the best visual experiences to viewers.

The AM-OLED panel is made by the fine shadow mask process and its resolution reaches 443 ppi. No date has been given for when the panel will enter production.

The company made the announcement at the start of the China Information Technology Expo & China Optoelectronics Display Expo 2013 (CITE & CODE 2013) in Shenzhen
