According to various news reports LG Display is expected to make a final decision by the end of November with regards to how the company will allocate a US$3.55 billion investment at its Gen 8 OLED production facilities in Paju, South Korea.

The reports suggest that LG Display will use the line to focus on the production of small- to medium-size flexible OLED displays in addition to large-size OLED TV panels, giving the company a more complete range of OLED solutions.

The LG Display line is expected to use 2,200mm by 2,500mm sized substrates and reach a monthly production capacity of 40,000 substrates, hitting approximately 80,000 substrates in monthly capacity by 2018.

Further reports from various Asian news websites are saying that LG Display is pushing up visits to China-based handset vendors such as Oppo and Vivo with a view to increased the supply of AMOLED panels.
